Software ki Hardware...

....is the eternal sawaal whenever there is a problem with a machine or laptop. Try asking a software guy and he is bound to say it is a hardware problem and vice versa.

I have been in these situations numerous times, not only because only on my machine/laptop, but I have seen the both the sides of the same coin.

But, its fun to prove each other wrong that the issue is either hardware or software. Why do I come to this topic you say ?

I am facing problem with my laptop and it is in the GREY area of software or hardware. But, I had to get up very early in the day to meet the HP Service center to beat the crowd there. They have taken my laptop away from me for 2 days.... sob sob..I am sure, it will be more than that though....

Old Friends ...

....bring with them loads of memories, and if they meet/chat up after ages, the memories come in thick and fast. This is what happened to me today..

Skipped my Gym intending to study few things for my forthcoming exams, and could not resist to login to my machine. And there I find my old school mate, who was a "very good" friend back then was logged on to gtalk.

I, honestly was reluctant to ping, and wondered if she would reply, but lo behold, she herself pinged....and we chatted away about the normal stuff about where I was and where she was stuff. I knew that she had got married now and hence talked a bit about it. But, my mind was wandering in all the places, that i had met her apart from school.

We had spent a good amount of time in Xth standard classes, met her 3 years ago in Mindspace, Mumbai ...and both those places and things I was going through, werent surely my best. I would be embarrased to re-visit the stupid things I did then or didnt do..

3 years ago was a different Rohan, he was FAT, disillusioned in work and life and looking for something drastic to happen to change. I prayed for it hard...and it did happen...for good.

I got a new lease of life, lived a totally different life, which was more comfortable, a job which was handsomely paying and the Gym, which I had to so deperately visit. But, that came at a price to stay away from folks.

3 years down the line, am I going in the same direction ? Do I know, what I need to do in future ? I guess I know, but how much I pursue it is what time will tell.

Hope I not leave this one to destiny....till then ..back to chatting with my Friend tomorrow !

Mumbai Meri Jaan !

....saw this movie today (in office, as I am lying around here the entire day) and I loved it.

The best part of all movies related to Mumbai are, that I get to see all the places in my favourite city and relate to it. It almost gives me goose-bumps. I can relate to anything and everything related to Mum. I just love it...

There are times, when I think, I should sell off my place in mumbai, 'cos its so much unclean, so damn congested, but NO, I want a place to come back to ...which I can call it my own.I LOVE it here..It would give me immense pleasure to get to mumbai. I would jump at every opporutnity to come back, if time permits..

I think, you can take a man out of mumbai, but cannot take MUMBAI out of a man.Certainly not out of me !!

Indians @ Athletics

...Why do we even send our sportsmen and women to participate in Athletics. Take for instance Anju Bobby George. She has been featured as India's brightest medal prospect in athletics and what does she do ? She does a FOUL jump in all 3 chances she gets on the Big day !!

I mean, I don't expect the guys to win medals with all the problems they face back home and more...but....I do expect them to do their best. This is the stage, where you should exceed your personal best and try and compete with the other champs. But do our guys do? No one even reaches their personal best and are well below par of their own standards !!

Why does that happen ? May be they have lost the race before they start it...that is not what we expect of them !!

Learn a thing or two from our BOXERS..they are fighting hard..hope we secure a medal or two tomorrow ! AMEN

Let the Games begin

...so I have finally found some time out of my busy day to write a blog....and what else than an Olympic to write about.

Though, I am not a great fan of the country named "China", the Olympic moment is beyond all boundaries. I am keen to see how India performs in this one. Though, this seems to be best team India has ever sent to the Games, I have my hopes pinned on the shooting team and the boxing team

I am expecting, more than 1 medals in the shooting event. The shooters really look confident and the team is indeed pretty STRONG. I have, unfortunately, no hopes from the Tennis team. Only a miracle, will help Paes and Bhupati win a medal with almost no practice. They did play in couple of tournaments, but they did not even reach the quaters in any of those. They are clearly beyond their peak and passion does not take you far enough. Though, I will be equally proud to see them win a medal.

Medals in any other event, like Badminton, will be a great add-on.

So....Let the Games Begin !...and we will sit back and Enjoy !!

Monday is done with....

...and what a Monday it has been. Actually, like any other Monday. As all Monday's this too was all about, catching up  with all the tasks, that you leave behind in your office on Friday !  On Friday, you never ever feel like working, 'cos you are in weekend mood, looking forward to 2 days (in some cases, 1 day) off.

..hence the work always get carried forward to Monday !..Amazingly, this is the case for most of us, sane people across the globe in all sectors. But, there are few, who love to reach office on Monday and love doing the job they do !

So, what did I do today? I researched away to glory about a place, I am planning to spend my weekend in two week's time. I learnt and seen so many snaps, that I guess, I have seen all that the place has to offer, sitting at my desk !

and I did some work toooo....and at the end of it all chatted away to glory with 2 of my good friends, away from where I am !!

India, the soft target

I am no politician, to play the blame game, but I am just a normal citizen, who is just putting his thoughts here on the blog, irrespective of whether any one on this online spectrum reads it !!

Why cant we have a great intelligence network ? with all that knowledge and engineers that we have, why cant we have a system in place to tackle the entire mess?

Why cant we have stricter laws to punish the culprits? Why cant we raise on the higher morale ground and execute the terrorists that we catch hold off ? Why do we have to listen to the Human Rights commission, when they have no explanation of the ordinary life's being taken away from the loved ones ??

Why cant all states come together and all intelligence in this country with awesomely qualified officers and avert these series of blasts ? Is it so easy, to conduct a series of blasts in two of the most important cities of the nation ?

More importantly, are we gonna forget about it in a month's time ?...till another city is rocked ??
